friday night booked out! rumour was spreading of a recall on saturday. anxiously and
cautiously, we booked out. half expecting a recall on saturday morning. but it didn't come. the fact that the company wasn't given a long weekend gave clue to the no show of the recall. friday night slept around 4+ in the morning. enjoyable night again.. ;)
saturday morning woke up like 10+ and read through the soccer news & emails. then around 1545h meet eeping at amk mrt station. we had planned to go suntec city to see what the Comex exhibition has gotta offer.. yongchai n timothy also went. they rode bike there.. we saw yang junwei too! he was with his dad. it was really crowded.. i had made a mind note that i must look out for my aunt at the fujifilm digicam counter coz i got a feeling she might be there promoting lor..
Wendy jumped rite in front of me suddenly as i was walking pretty quickly towards the fujifilm place! whoa! my long lost cousin who i haven met for like 20 yrs!!! i got a shock!! i was like "who is this person? but hey! it's a girl.. let me think harder who this person is before embarrassing myself by saying i dunno who he/she is.." haha!! lucky my cousin dun hv my blog add.. haha.. shhhhh....
she was pulled in by my aunt jenny who is one yr younger than me.. wanted to take a picture the 3 of us but my aunt is just so so so busy.. busy promoting the cameras.. she probably earns a fat commission with the sale of each camera. that plus her mediacorp contract n fixed pay at the fair.. oh yah, jenny is one yr younger than me if u guys haven been following my blog.. yeah.. took a pic with wendy.. very happy!! :)
Eeping bought a digicam!! Olympus mju.. water resistant, two 128-MB memory card plus one 16MB memory card, plus tripod, plus carrying case, bag, cleaning kit, spare lithium rechargable battery plus free workshop on photography.. wow.. not bad lor.. cost is $699. he was deciding between the Olympus mju and the Exilim Z55 one.. but i think the Olympus one is more value for money lor..
went to old air port road on bikes(2 on each) to have dinner. had a sumptuous cha kuay teow n wan tan mee for dinner.. good sia.. i like the wan tan mee!! after dinner went back to orchard wanting to catch a movie.. was at cineleisure.. then we spotted a few familiar guardsman from other platoons there too.. pioneer guys n mortar guys.. haha.. we caught juis red handed dating a girl.. !! whoA! he sure acts fast.. amazing eh? i'm not so good lor.. i'm still unwanted lor.. haha.. so after teasing him lots, we went to the cinema ticket counters only to find that the tickets for the 9+ shows were all sold out. tim was reluctant to watch movie in the end, eeping didn't wanna watch the late night show at midnight. i was unwilling to miss the nufc game initially since i had already given my word i had played along lor.. so if they watch i'll watch.. but they cancelled it so me n eeping went home by mrt..
went home but didn't watch the nufc game. slept at 5+.. :) awoke at 0930h the next day morning. wanted to play soccer with kp, n darren one.. but due to lack of ppl n a nagging dad irritating me abt formatting his new pc n setting up the Lan network to link up the 2 pcs currently functioning, we cancelled the soccer game. i stayed at home n set up everything n installed everything n chit chat on msn n sms at the same time surf n blogged..
gonna go cut my hair later at amk centre then go buy some groceries to bring into camp. haaa.. sianz abt cutting hair tho.. i juz cut last weekend.. but they say veri long cannot make it.. so have to cut again.. ok for now.. gotta go cut hair loh! blog later maybe.. then prepare for book in..

Watched 2 soccer matches juz now. watched southampton vs blackburn at a japanese / korean restaurant in serangoon gardens. nice match.. 5 goals! and the place was pretty good.. air con with sweet waitress serving us.. haha.. i prefer the atmosphere outside at cafe cartel though.. open air with lotsa ppl watching the giant tv.. i liked to watch there.. maybe some background music would have made the atmosphere betta. haha.. i dunno.. but kp like dun realli enjoy as much as i do lei.. he prefers the coffeeshop lei.. he doesn't care abt atmostphere oni the price of the drinks.. hmmm.. am i being stupid here? atmostphere vs price.. which u choose?
second match i watch at kp house coz the coffeeshop around all showing liverpool game. so we watched at his place. pretty messy place. haha.. but the good part was the snacks n drinks were on the house. his family owns a minimart business u c.. haha.. newcastle disappointed me big time against tottenham at st. james' park. i thought they had a good 1st half but a terrible second.. the thought of sacking robson came to my mind when until the 70th min he still dun wanna make any substitutions.. luckily this is his last season.. haha..
took 262 back home myself coz i dun wanna trouble kp to send me home in the van lah.. i'm not a gal.. if i am i'll demand to be sent home.. haha.. i read the newpaper while i was on the bus. i past by the usual bus stop i had been waiting for bus home for the past 4 years after sending her home.. i didn't budge from reading papers.. perhaps i've really gotten over her.. hmmm.. leading a happy single life..

Hi everyone again.. i actually booked out on friday night but i was lazy to blog yesterday night so here i am with an update. the past week in camp was spent mostly preparing for alert red activation. by the ring of a bell, we must be ready in FBO downstairs in 5 minutes then they'll test us on the 3 minute everything out and in procedure. other than preparing fieldpack, studying/revising signal notes, we'll be having company exercises like endurance run, soc, icct etc..
For the signal guys, we'll hv to man comms from 17 aug to 17 sept 24 hours 7 days a week.. with a platoon size of 22 man, i was entasked to plan out the duty roster. i was stunned! but i took only like a few hours to plan it out. but lotsa ammendments here n there after that la.. tomolo my shift will start at 0800h n i was told to book in on saturday night. Darnz! i dun want lei.. liddat i can't watch soccer le.. haiz. i'll try to appeal with ps..
i'm crazy! i actually went to apply for a job at jobsdb.. haha.. hope to learn more about being a multimedia developer, web designer etc.. haha.. i still haven decide what to study next time. should i go private for a design course or nus or ntu for computer science? or even study business courses? to specialize in one or to be a jack of all trades, master of none? hmmm.. i might need to hear more views on this so frens please comment.. haha

sat was recalled into camp. call came at 12 noon. reached home at 2pm. short n sweet. lucky no everything in n everything out ah.. took photos of my revamped bunk.. nua at home till 5pm before i went to J8 alone to walk walk. my frens ask me go out so i went out lor.. but nothing i realli wanna shop for lor.. bought a handphone pouch though. J8 changed a lot liao.. long time nv come le.. night time went to stay over at uncle john's place. ah ma there misses me.. i feel so guilty.. haven't stayed over there for like 2 months since the breakup. wasn't realli in the mood i guess.. soccer from 7pm till 2am++ i hate hasselbaink. his handball goal is cheat.. if not for him newcastle would hv won 1-2 but now draw 2-2 le.. taiko.. urgh! Cheaters!! Pui! =P

Woke up super early today. around 0730h. hurriedly go brush teeth, make breakfast(with coffee of coz..), fold my army clothes and packed into my bag to get ready for a recall.. alert red period is like that one lah.. must be 24-hour ready to dash into camp to change into long four uniform within 2 hours. ended up finish packing le still haven get the recall.. now already 1040h. haiz.. i slept late last night again.. as is all my book out nights. around 0400h++..
Booked out last night after a last minute turn out. almost, if not all, had already changed into civilian clothing getting ready to book out le when BSO called a turn out. hurriedly change back into long four with helmet, SBO webbing & fieldpack n rush downstairs to the corridor n fall in. surprisingly i was the first in the platoon to be downstairs.. haha.. i was still wearing white socks(when we're supposed to be wearing the longer green socks when wearing boots), had not worn a belt(which i usually do but ain't compulsory to) and haven buttoned up my fly fully..(i only buttoned up 2 outta around 5 buttons. but it's covered by the no. 4 shirt anyway...)
we roughly just missed the timing or just made it.. so no punishment meted out la.. purely to "test our combat readiness n not to tekan" as quoted from BSO. but the sweating caused by the impromptu turn out already wasted all our effort to bath just before we book out. It was during the keeping back of our stuff into the fieldpack that i cut my finger. the ET Blade pouch is torn.. i was trying to push the Entrenching Tool into the fieldpack when i pushed my finger against the torn part of the ET Blade pouch & cut my finger. i washed my finger n slowly took my tim as i became the last one to finish packing n go upstairs to change back to civilian clothes. A lil' disappointed that no one noticed my cut before i went upstairs thus getting ZERO help from anyone.. anyway,... it's over n i dun realli mind la.. =)
went to bunk one to ask for hansaplus. bingcheng has. but while waiting for him to get it, i went back to my bunk to pack my stuff. frankie who probably saw my cut had prepared lotsa hansaplus on the table for me to use. i took one from him and used it to wrap my finger. it was transparent(yes, me swaku.. first time see be4) but it was pretty small i find. maybe i veri long time nv use liao find it small la... frankie insist it's normal size. ok... proceeded to pack my stuff..
went home by cab with 3 other amk guys. then used the pc while waiting for something to happen. haha.. stayed awake throughout till around 0400h++ before i decided to sleep. Come to think of it, it was enjoyable.. haha... it's been a while since i last did it. hmmm... is there such thing as honeymoon friendship? haha.. hope not..

The past week was a short week in camp! All thanks to the nation's bdae falling on a Monday.. Tuesday night book in to sortof compensate the marching contingent for their hard work on the night's performance. Look at the KHAKI BERET!! Look at the GUARDS TAB on the soldier's left shoulder!! it is my pride n honour to say that i'm a GUARDSMAN too!!
Although often i think that having to serve 2 yrs of NS is pretty dumb, i take pride in being a GUARDSMAN. to be part of the Guards family. the training and demands are higher than in other units but when u don the khaki beret, i can feel the prestige that is being respected. A lot of my frens in other units look up to the khaki beret but dun hv the chance to don it. Some see it above the maroon beret of the commandoes and i dun see why not? i dislike colors like red and maroon anyway!
okok, enough of pride n honour.. booked in tuesday night. busied our way thru packing a new Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) way of fieldpack packing.. ziplock bags, no. 4 uniform, socks, underwear, toiletries, mess tins, kiwi brush, etc.. all in... engrossed in some interesting sms bouts with a new fren. heh.. pretty fun!! =)
over the next few weekdays we spent our time being always ready for a turn out which is activated by the ringing of a bell or siren. upon turned out, we r to fall in Full Battle Order(FBO) at the corridor within 5 minutes. for non-army personnels, FBO means SAR21 rifle, helmet, webbing(it's like a vest with lotsa pouches to put magazines loaded with live rounds in time of war..), and fieldpack with all the nicely labelled packs inside. then we'll most likely be tested on our speed in unpacking n laying out in orderly and standardized manner within 3 minutes. failure to comply to the time will be punished. failure to pack sound free packs will be served with some blood-rushing-to-the-head pushups too!! (the packs mustn't make much noise even when shaken!!)
i did lotsa admin work for my PS as he's now treating me as his PA. URGH! i dunno whether tat's good. but i guess it's my way of repaying him his kindness to me also lor.. though it's not within my job scope. lotsa planning of duty roster schedules, typing on excel, printing out, revising of roster, emailing, designing and printing out of signal store signs, fieldpack numbers and fieldpack names etc... all this done in the midst of being 24 hour prepared for a turn out. quite a stressful week. but there was this secret that keeps me going and brightened up my days n nights !!

watched nufc beat rangers 4-2 in a frenly tournament semi finals n was happy to see butt there.. coz he can do a good job i believe. ameobi as usual so big n gangly. i like too.. too bad i missed seeing the first half when my fav player was tripped by ricksen for a shearer penalty. Laurent Robert ! my favourite left winger.. come to think of it, the next left winger i like so much is a pool player. harry kewell.. hmmm... the oni player i can think of to replace robert. dudes, lay him off.. he is NOT moving..
played 4 player winning eleven with jonas, jm & kp. haha! super messy. machiam fighting atec liddat. yeah, bought a multi-tab for 30 plus.. won the final veri dramatically with a 120min equalizer n several misses in the shootout which followed. then i play van helsing till dawn. in fact i played thru out the night till noon. haha.. power nots? then the ps2 like cannot tahan liao. it hang. :( then i off it n went to bed. kp left le i oso dunno.. haha..
