i had a terrible headache for most of yesterday. i skipped my usual coffee n biscuits before going out. had beehoon at the interchange. slept on the bus. it grew from bad to worse my headache. it was going to be the start of another busy day.. pallets after pallets of books came.. i chose the fastening job as it require little concentration and is one of the least strenuous jobs around.
i ticked Ah Bao off today. maybe i was in a foul mood due to the persistent headache despite me taking 2 panadols. but i feel i'm justified to tick him off.. u'll be my judge. here's the scenario: Ah Bao is a damn snake. chinese should noe what i mean. while we are working hard, he infuriates u with his irritating gestures n slacking off...
while he was assigned to the task of scotch-taping the sides of the carton boxes together, he often just left his post without valid reason. he was slacking off. he'll walk to the entrance which is quite far away from our work station. he'll smoke n also take toilet breaks. i even saw him eating a piece of cake in the morning after he fled off to the canteen to buy it.
during lunch break when i was told to collect our lunch with him about 15 minutes earlier than all the others, he told me this!! "Today very sianz.. i din do much.. always go there disturb ppl come here disturb disturb.. then one day is past." (& he'll earn the same as me who usually slogged hard n honestly..) another thing was, after scotch-taping the boxes together, he is required to push the box along the rollers to the next station which was to fasten. i was then at the station after fastening. i was carrying the stuff onto the pallets, neatly arranging them too..
he'll push the boxes so hard that it'll drop onto the floor after hitting against the end of the rollers. despite us telling him nicely not to do so, he was unrepentent as he continued to do so. he was irritating us on purpose. as he said during the break. we were a lil' angry. me? i'm furious coz i was the oni one who noe his motive.
after another snaking away session by him, he came back all smiles. he had the cheek to be all smiles. not a sign of guiilt. i couldn't take it anymore.. i lamblasted at him. i felt better. he dared not go off for that period of time. he didn't push the boxes too hard. but the relationship betwen us has soured to not on talking terms already. it ain't healthy to work this way.. i'm still not happy.. i might have lost a fren... have i done wrong, my dear audience??
