Bored stiff the whole day. actually fell asleep twice while watching Constantine on dvd with michelle. she? concussed on my chair.. wouldn't get up even after it had ended.. needed some shoo-ing from me.. couldn't realli get the show..(partly coz i fell asleep n missed parts..) devil, angel, conspiracy, heaven, hell.. argh! but the majority of the show was so dark.. i juz disliked it.. rating 3/10. haha.. yeah i'm cruel. Initially i wanted to go out coz the shops should be open again after the cny break but michelle wouldn't budge. The thought of shopping alone just didn't appeal. decided to ask jm out. but couldn't realli decide on where to go. in the end, decided to meet at amk central. deposited my ang pow money. walked around the limited stores open. then head home and order takeaways.

dinner was ordered. canadian 2-for-1 pizzas. shared between me, jm & michelle. due to their large orders taken, they've ran out of side orders. thus no spicy jumbo wings for us. =( we decided to cook our own sides. haha.. we boiled some cream of mushroom soup and then i fried some hot dogs. it was fun!

The night before CNY day one, the guys and i got together.. gathered at my place playing card games, the ps2 and my computer took a step to the side for once. heh.. trying to clear the bottle of bailey's kp brought over the other time from my fridge, i poured 2 cups to the brim and offered to them. kp declined saying he was driving the next morning, jm said he nv drinks and refused to and dn said it smelt and tasted like medicine(cough solution)!

so i was the only sporting person left to try and clear the 2 cups. perhaps i drank too quickly wanting to start on the second cup asap. flushed my face red and all i can remember is bouts of laughter from me at the minorest of tickles and dealing the cards the many times(means i lost the most lah =P). i didn't get to start on the second cup and i woke up on cny day morning with this sight.. Apparently, dn n jm were cold half way thru the night and decided to sleep in the living room. Only me, with my liquor-warmed body(slept without blanket), while the blanket-clad kp slept in my air con room. i had this sickening headache which i deduced as my hangover from last night. i still can't believe i got drunk by one cup. oh GAWD! Went ah ma house for breakfast. ate some of her homemade cake. the yellow one in the picture.. it's called kuay nen ko in hokkien. meaning egg cake when directly translated. yummylicious! These are all the ang pows i got.. not many but i'm fine with that. i dun expect to get many coz i'm the lazy kind. those that dun like go from house to house and socialize. this manner of socializing makes me feel bad. there's a tinge of embarassment within coz i'll feel like i'm soliciting angpows. which i'm not! dun give also nvm.. my usual aunties, uncles and ah ma gives me enuff liao.. haha.. Every year for me is the same. cny day 1 morning go ah ma house to greet her. all my uncles n aunties will bring my cousins there. have breakfast and lunch then i'll follow my godma & goddad(which is one of my aunties..) home where we'll wait for her few usual mahjong kakis and also relatives from my god dad side to visit. Being goody two shoes for most of the day was boring and so... when night fell and when most of the guests are gone, we get loony together.. haha.. i felt it was fun. got the girls to pose as egoistic, arrogant super heroes while i snapped away.. uncontrollable laughter.. hiak hiak.. To end this long entry, this is michelle at her best.. heh ;)

Chinese New Year Eve. What are you reminded of? reunion dinner. steamboat. crowded living room. loud chattering. sweating eyebrows. ice box no more box. haha.. what else? for me, it also means no tv. why? coz the kids will be bordering around it with the xbox.

Having a digicam is usually useful for recording still pictures of memorable moments in life.. however, i discovered another use of it! it's great as a weapon too. these are pictures taken while me and yuyan are trying to take shots of one another faces with our various digicams. several multiple flashes later, my aiming's not bad eh? This cousin of mine likes to bully me.. always up to some tricks, bashing or screaming at me.. The scary part's she's only 10 years old! OMG!

Tendered my resignation a few days back actually.. Today's my last day at work.. inevitably, i felt certain amount of reluctance in leaving the guys at work.. Still, the pain of leaving them is dwarfed by the departure of Cedric a few days back. He certainly left a big impression on me.. hmmmm....-_- Stanley, Me, Spencer & Ben(clockwise from top left) in the office auditioning for several movie roles.. haha.. luckily, no one spotted us.. haha..

CNY Lunch at work.. it was so crowded and we had to queue for the food.. to be served by the managers of various departments. the few of us who hates the queueing and the crowd smuggled ourselves out and ate out. then joined everyone in watching the performances. it's an annual tradition in this company for the first year employees to perform an item or two.. most chose the easy way out of singing a song.. Was utterly bored at home..decided to play around with some video conferencing.. heh.. had some crazy fun.. haha.. Being lame is definitely fun.. heh.. ;)

Work today ain't as fun as it was for the past few days. following dawn around doing vm for the second half of the day, it dawned(pun not intended) upon me that i was missing cedric's presence. Gawd! i'm not gay.. his charismatic character was a big lost. i actually sent him a few sms-es when i felt that work today was pretty boring wondering whether he's busy packing his luggage or already on the plane to uk. Work started today with stock taking at Seiyu Topshop. 0830h. i was assigned to the knickers section again. i realized how capable my friday asst was(not to mention she's such a babe). mon asst was pretty impatient. tues asst was sotong(but pretty too.) and today's asst was kinda relac and lazy... always asking me to cheat on the stock taking.. haha..
dawn commented that i've been pretty lucky in the bouts of stock taking these few days. always paired with babes or young chinese gals.. heh.. no comments.. but i certain got NO complaints about that. =) Dad left for m'sia on coach tonite after dinner. he's visiting his brother in m'sia to discuss about some stuff as well as celebrate cny.. now the whole house is mine & michelle's.. heh.. we collected our early ang pow of coz.. he's going for a few days. so.. i prolly could ask the guys over to stay without fear or waking/interrupting my dad's sleep with our loud laughter.. hee..

Today was the last day the whole Visual Merchandising Dept could get together for a farewell meal.. coz my last day would be on the 27th and Cedric would be flying off to Manchester on the 25th for a holiday. so after stock take wisma topman this morning, They (Dyson, Dawn & Cedric) invited me to lunch at The Simple Life together. It's located at Wheelock. I took this rare opportunity to take a group photo. heh ;) Dyson picked up the tab.. i felt pretty guilty coz i din get him a present cos i dun feel as close to him.. his role as the senior executive makes him our immediate superior thus earning the title of boss. Often it's the 3 of us(Cedric, Dawn & me) who're travelling and working together.. Nonetheless, i felt that if i get him a gift, it'll kinda de-value my gifts to dawn & cedric. coz i'm not that affluent enuff to give away gifts to every colleague. hope he doesn't get to noe abt the gifts i got dawn & cedric.. After lunch, Dyson split from us and we trio went to the concourse to source for some decoration for the miss selfridge window opening at marina square in march. it's some kinda vine of a certain kind of leaves. there.. many shops wholesales veri genuine looking flowers made of cloth or plastic.

Went to suntec city topshop and did some minor VM tasks there. just removing of some decor and then did some shopping at topman. we tried on some clothes. they kinda 'ordered' me to change into some clothes to let them see.. including a pink striped shirt at topman. they say i look nice in it.. but i didn't dare to buy it for fear of another adopting another white elephant in my wardrobe. cedric bought me this tee he chosed specially for me.. he must hv felt some form of guilt over my gift for him.. hehe.. Then we went army market and did some shopping. heh.. they were looking at converse shoes, tees and dawn was trying to find the army medical pouch. she had been so impressed and fascinated when cedric came to work one fine day carrying the medical pouch instead of his usual sling bag. Alas, we couldn't find a medical pouch which looked exactly like cedric's..

Cedric bought himself something which he had always wanted to get but couldn't find. it's a vintage old skool toy. the magic cube. and he is real good with it. impressing us over some drinks at the table.

Monday... most ppl would be hving the blues and all.. well,.. i dun realli feel that bad today afterall.. this is especially strange coz i felt i haven't had enuff of the weekend feeling ytd while with the guys and i was kinda whining abt how the wkend seemed so short & just flew by.. i got to work on time even though i tossed & turned about in bed refusing to face up to reality and believe that IT IS TIME to get up. it always seemed that the sleep is so short. so veri reluctantly to get up.. haha.. at least, i hv a reason to feel tired. i slept at around 2am k... not i lazy. is i not enuff sleep.. hee ;) i sacrificed my breakfast time loh.. thus no brekky for me. stock take at Wisma TopShop started at 8.30am. each of us were assigned to a certain area to scan in barcodes after barcodes of clothes. one by one. cannot scan one then count and key in the quantity. die die must scan in every barcode. nvm lah.. i was okay with that still.. some clothes had their barcode tag missing and i also had to key in by hand the item code. then after finishing my assigned area, i was told to help out with the others at the jewellery/accessories tower.

it was pretty much a tedious job. the racks are messy. each rack could hv a few different type of accessory. which means for each rack i hv to key in the number of different barcodes. key in as in number by number of the barcodes n not scan in.. OMG! they are not short i tell ya.. it would be something like 5050688788122. Gawd! tediousness level 2.

then some of the necklaces would be entangled in a super incredible "Cha Bee Hoon" making it impossible to count them until we untangled and sorted them out. the paper work was also multiplied. more entries have to be written on the papers due to the many barcodes of accessories. frustrating also was the many one-item barcodes to hv to key in.(meaning there is oni one left of the model no.)

No brekky today and juz when my stomach is starting to feel the pangs, we finished up. time estimated around 11.30pm. accompanied cedric to nokia care to send his hp in for repair. told to collect it 2 hours later. we went for lunch then went on shopping mode. heh.. we made our way from the Calvin Klein's to the Paul Smith's and also thru the Zara's. Cedric made a few phonecalls and helped me get discount for some DirtyGirl body mist my sis wanted me to get for her.. Cedric was looking for some clothing to wear on his trip to Manchester on the 25th.. he got himself a sweater at Zara. After we collected the phone and were about to head back to office to finish up some decoration chore, Dyson informed us that we weren't needed if we're still in town.. and... so... we went for more shopping.. haha! i can imagine all the gals wishing they were in my job.. haha..

We proceeded to shop even more. go Best see digicam, see printer, TV, etc.. he also went to a few stores and tried clothes on.. Basically, we walked the walk, talked the talk and shopped the shops! haha..

he told me i could go home around 1700h. said he was going to look up another fren. we parted ways but i wasn't about to end my window shopping day. haha.. i went gift hunting.. i realli enjoyed having him as a colleague, boss, teacher, senior, shopping companion and friend that i thought i ought to get a farewell gift for him before he leaves for manchester on tour on wed. tomolo would be his last day seeing me for a long long time.. till gods noes when.. hmmm...

after some hesitant moments, i got him a card holder from projectshop and also got dawn(my other colleague) a red espirit towel. i saw him using a card holder before mah.. hope he likes it. hope he doesn't already have one exactly the same. while dawn often go swimming. thus i tot a towel would be appropriate.. hee ;) realli realli hope my humble gifts would be appreciated. Apparently, after we parted cedric went to do more shopping on his own too! haha.. he called me around 8pm and told me to bring my camera to work tomolo. i was fine with that but i still asked for the reason why.. he told me he bought my model too! haha.. told me he wanna me to teach him how to play with it tomolo.. heh.. no problem i told him. he's a fren to me more than just a boss or colleague.

After getting home and passing over the bottles of body mist to her, she wrote me this instructional note on what to get her at topshop next...
And so.. i have to go Topshop Wisma tomolo and go knickers shopping.. Can u imagine me asking the sales stuff or telling Cedric that i need to get some female boxers?

at least sunday was a morning where i could sleep in till pretty late. slept till around 11am.(though it wasn't as comfy lah.. my bed at home more comfy.. hee..) then ate breakfast. juz some homemade cookies and coffee(what else?! i love coffee.. i heard aussie is coffee-frenly).. it was hl's bdae on tues and we decided to celebrate it for her today.

so i rushed home after lunch, changed and met up with the guys to go dholby ghault area for ktv.. china ktv again.. beside dynasty ktv at peace centre. it's cheap.. oni 8 bucks per head. in all, me, kp, jm, jonas, hl, nep and me. 7 o us. we sang 3 hours from 3pm to 6pm.. the room was big and spacious. has 3 tvs.. one for song selection console, one for tv and one for reading the lyrics from. coz of the tennis babes on tv, sometimes when the song ain't that interesting, we'd switch our eyes to oogling mode.. heh.. oh ya.. sharapova(remember the canon powershot girl?) vs hantuchova was one of the live matches on then.. so we had quite an eyeful. sharapova was wearing this pyjamas-look-like outfit which din realli flatter her figure. i tot it was pretty ugly. i'd hv preferred her in that white outfit instead. did some research and discovered that Sharapova was born in 1987. is only 19 yrs old! Meanwhile, Hantuchova(born 1983) was in this blue outfit(below).
after the bout of singing our hearts out, we were hungry and proceeded to Cafe Cartel @ Plaza Singapura for dinner. there we chit chat, luffed and filled our tummys.. heh.. yeah i got the waitress to take a pic for us.. another good keepsake. ;)

memories like these are priceless.. heh..

an early saturday morning.. cannot sleep till sun shine on backside then wake up ah.. arranged to go to an idp seminar with my roomie-to-be, ben. wasn't really something very enriching for me though. ben wanna do some shopping and so i led him around orchard road. he commented that i seemed so professional in leading the way around.. haha.. i told him it was part of my working routine to be walking around orchard.. hiak hiak..

bade good bye to ben ard noon. met up with kp & jm and did a lil' bit of shopping. kp and i got ourselves some briefs and socks at john little. (yah.. i'm not a boxer person..) kp won some voucher at his company event lucky draw mah.. i especially love the bum sock in brazil colors.. heh ;) then we took the mrt down to chinatown. YES.. !! ME. MELVYN. IN CHINATOWN. that is like the last place i'm thinking of going during CNY period. i never once fancied the thought of jostling thu crowds in a non-aircon environment like chinatown. (C'Mon.. orchard on wkends is bad enough. but chinatown?!) Since kp asked.. i told him i was fine with that.. it was an eye opener coz i hadn't been there during cny period for at least half a decade. some tourist were taking photos and after kp helped them take a photo, i ask for a return of the favour.. And boy! was i was happy with taking pix with the guys.. coz they might juz prove to be some good keepsake for bringing over to aussie..(oh gawd.. btw, that's me with my lil' beardo below. heh.. juz wanted to try something different.. comments anyone..?) kp initially wanted to get some ba kwa from a certain stall but on seeing the queue, he gave up the idea. haha.. off to bishan we went. got the ONE thing that i wanted the most to get for my impending aussie trip. A Digicam. I'm so God-Damn satisfied with it.. My very own FX9. gosh.. the goodies were great too. in all, 2 lithium batteries. 2 512MB SD Card. a mini tripod. a camera bag. a travel charger. a camera cleaning kit. all these for SGD$685. kp was so impressed by the camera too and he got a set too! his was a red one while mine is black. all charged under my credit card he got a 2% discount too! that's like 15 bucks less for each of us. not bad eh? meanwhile, i benefitted by earning the credit card points of his purchase. heh ;) Oh yah! we each got 14 tickets to a lucky draw at Best. top prize being a car. wow.. if i win i will surely sell it.. hehe.. aiya.. i think it's fat hope lah..


hee.. it was a happy day out with the guys..
